PETA, S-R: Buzz off

The Spokesman-Review

With all the real news that’s fit to print on a newly shrunken paper, did we really have to use up a second-page, doublewide column to read this ludicrous story about our president being cruel to a living creature by giving a fly a swat into the next life?

I enjoyed watching the outtake of the NBC interview footage showing Mr. Obama using the stealth swat. Perhaps if he had used chopsticks ala Karate Kid, PETA would have approved. “Humane bug catcher” is an oxymoron. PETA just lost all my respect.

As for the S-R, maybe that article would have been better on the entertainment page.
