Security requires compromise
Congratulations for the courage of columnist Mona Charen to write, and The Spokesman-Review to print, Wednesday’s “Accept truth, in all its extremes.”
Americans are coming to accept that the answer to the question of security vs. personal privacy at our airports will require some form of profiling, whether it be regional, religious or appearance. Perhaps the Israeli model, despite the difference in traffic volume, can become a model for securing both of our mutual concerns.
Given the current political climate, profiling may be difficult to implement, but I believe it is the best course of action for us.
