Profit supports public sector

This is in response to the letter by Lee Freese (Dec. 6).

Let me try to explain that the private sector pays the wages of the public sector. His disdain of company profits is self-defeating. Before a company can distribute profits within the company (i.e., bonuses, business investments, etc.), that company pays taxes from those profits. Those capitalist profits you condemn pay your wages.

We all need to work together. The private sector and public sector should stand together in making the United States great. United we stand, divided we fall.

I sincerely hope that other public employees do not view those in the private sector with such contempt. I also hope that they have a better understanding of basic economics.
