No Y, no way

The Spokesman-Review

To me, the Y building is not particularly attractive and crouches like a troll in the parkland by the river. Built in 1967, it certainly is not a “vintage” building, and the fact that it was headquarters for Expo ‘74 and the only remaining initial Y building in Spokane are specious arguments.

If it’s so special to the Y, why didn’t they buy it to preserve it? And, when did the Y, as an organization, become so deserving of special consideration?

Tear down the building, restore the land to its original state so everyone can enjoy it and a new view of the falls. Don’t try to make a “silk purse out of a sow’s ear” and enable a developer to profit out of a million-dollar tax break.
