Tales of inspiration
Two articles in The Spokesman-Review on Tuesday really inspired me. I wasn’t aware of the contributions to our city by Glen Yake. I moved here the year of Expo ’74 and the more I’ve seen of the world, the more grateful I am to live in a city with such a beautiful downtown. He certainly left a lasting mark on our city.
Also, the story about the blind machinist was almost unbelievable. We hear about the indomitable human spirit. His determination to overcome what would seem to be insurmountable obstacles personifies that ideal.
No more complaining about the usual aches and pains of the 50-something guy from me – at least for a while.
