Outrage aplenty

Ah, there they are! I specifically went online to The Spokesman-Review’s website and found what I was looking for. Others in the community were as outraged as I was in opening the paper Saturday morning to find a photo of a recently deceased person. I suppose it is an editor’s choice to run a picture of a body, but I feel the editor of the S-R in this case went way “over the top” on journalism ethics when you add the fact that the person hadn’t even been identified yet! What were you thinking?

Letters policy

The Spokesman-Review invites original letters on local topics of public interest. Your letter must adhere to the following rules:

  • No more than 250 words
  • We reserve the right to reject letters that are not factually correct, racist or are written with malice.
  • We cannot accept more than one letter a month from the same writer.
  • With each letter, include your daytime phone number and street address.
  • The Spokesman-Review retains the nonexclusive right to archive and re-publish any material submitted for publication.
