Schools need upkeep, too

Let’s face it, money is tight; available jobs are almost nonexistent; and all us Social Security old folks haven’t had a cost-of-living raise in two years, but kids need our support.

Our Central Valley schools need updating to become energy-efficient – which is money saved in the long run.

Just as our homes need work as they are – so do our schools. The longer repairs are postponed, the more the problems multiply – as does the expense.

Do I want a tax increase? No. But can we turn our backs on kids and schools? That answer is also no.

So let’s bite the bullet and once again support our kids, our grandkids and their schools.
