Careful with endorsements

It’s that time again – the time when Spokane is plastered with campaign signs; yes, it’s election time. I have noticed a curious thing as of late. Some candidates seem to have a lot of support from members of the business community. How do I know? Because their campaign signs are prominently displayed on the building or nearby on the property which the business occupies.

Take note business owners: You should think twice before brazenly making your politics known because you run the risk of alienating a good portion of your present and potential future customers. These customers might decide to shop elsewhere; I know I have. Just because it is your right to express your beliefs, it does not mean that it is wise to do so.
