Supporting Padden

I support Mike Padden for state senator, 4th District. Mike is the best choice.

First, Mike was my dad’s choice to take his place. Second, my dad didn’t support Jeff Baxter. A sign that tells me Jeff could have done better was his dismissal of my dad’s legislative aide of 15 years, Mike McCliment. He would have been a tremendous help to Jeff.

Third, it’s too early to see how effective Jeff is or will be. Rob Chase’s comment earlier this summer that “we need younger, yet seasoned people like Sen. Jeff Baxter, who represent the grassroots citizens – not the establishment” is misleading.

Jeff is inexperienced. Mike Padden’s experience in the House of Representatives and as a judge doesn’t make him “the establishment.” He really has valuable experience! You can tell what kind of person he is by looking at his voting record and decisions as a judge.

I agree with Rob Chase that we need someone to “put their hearts and minds into righting the course this foundering ship of state has taken.” That’s Mike Padden. He will do an excellent job representing us in the state senate.
