Teacher union backing is deserved

Over the past few years I have had the opportunity to work with Ben Stuckart as a volunteer in the community and in his role as executive director of Communities in Schools. It is no surprise that the Spokane Education Association, representing 3,000 Spokane schools staff, endorsed Ben this week.

Ben and his team of volunteers have been tirelessly knocking on doors for the past several months – meeting hundreds of diverse people one to one and face to face and actually listening to their concerns and hearing their stories. This, I believe, is an important part of what it takes to be an effective leader for our city.

Ben Stuckart, for one, has the energy, the empathy and the experience to help lead our city forward. I encourage voters to give this candidate their full consideration.
