Proof Proposition 1 needed

Reporter Becky Kramer’s Sept. 7 article on the impacts of climate change on water (“Study: Summer water supply to dwindle”) is all the more reason we need to put in place better protections for the Spokane River and aquifer.

Climate change is already affecting species, growing seasons, the health of our oceans and more. Here at home, Becky reminds us, our river and aquifer are under threat.

Proposition 1 – the Community Bill of Rights initiative – will put in place new protections for the Spokane River and aquifer. Further, it establishes the rights of us as residents to enforce those protections.

I’ll be voting yes on Proposition 1 this November.
