Recycling bad ideas

In their continuing effort to emulate Seattle and the rest of the “Left Coast” (I don’t know why), the city of Spokane is going to adopt single-stream recyling collection. Again, the glib-tongued politicians have put one over on us with their campaign promise to contain costs.

With the new recycle program, I am sure that we will have to buy new trucks, or refit the existing ones, buy 70,000 new containers, hire more people to sort the items; all at the expense of taxpayers.

You must be following the lead of the feds, i.e., create more government jobs, and say “we are solving the unemployment problem” (on the back of the taxpayers).
