White male likes changes

I didn’t immediately realize as I was caught up in the euphoria of the 2008 election that there was an almost equal amount of Americans disappointed. I’ve been reminded frequently since. A recent reminder is people saying an Obama victory is a loss for America. Their vision of America lost as a proud moment for me happened again. Welcome changes are coming.

Government is best when it can benefit the most people. To protect many from a powerful few. To offer prospects of a good education and rewarding employment to those of modest means despite the privilege of the wealthy. It will never be perfect but the closer to these principles, the better.

I feel so good to see more women and non-white people advance politically as they advance in our society. I have hoped for years to see a time when our direction as a nation would not be dominated by white males. Seems the power trip is being threatened by the changing face of America. I embrace it!

For those who need to know I’ve been a white male all my life.
