We’re in it together
When Mitt Romney wrote off the almost one-half of Americans who do not pay the federal income tax as self-described victims who think they are entitled to support like food and housing, he included millions of hard-working poor, deserving retired people, veterans, and truly disabled, plus a whole lot of Republicans who have pledged to support him.
Now he is using his self-described “inelegant” words to promote a discussion of the role of government. His vision is: “We have ours and you are on your own.” The alternative is: “We are all in this together,” and our future will grow in that cooperation.
That is the real choice before America.
