Need help with traffic issue

I live on Houston Avenue in Morgan Acres, which is the residential county area from Francis Avenue north to Lincoln Road, and Crestline Street east to Market Street. Francis, from Crestline to Market, is now blocked to through traffic.

We have hundreds of cars, semitrucks, delivery trucks, school buses, flatbeds with heavy machinery and tractor-trailer semitrucks traveling down Houston. This activity goes on constantly. When two vehicles go down the road in opposite directions, they don’t slow down; they drive in the dirt or on our property. Now, add the carbon monoxide. Two residents on Houston have breathing problems.

I called the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office to report speeding, and they never responded. I went on the Internet to find the website for the North-South Corridor. It was nonfunctional. I called the bridge project engineer, who referred me to the city construction manager, where I was referred to the project manager. I left my number, but never got a call back.

It’s pretty sad that apathy is replacing respect.

Can you please give us some kind of direction for a resolution to the problem?
