Thanks, McMorris Rodgers

Thank you, Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers, for being a leader and for showing that politicians can put aside their differences and come together for the best interest of the American people.

The deal reached to avoid the “fiscal cliff” demonstrates that divided government can work. The deal wasn’t perfect; this country still has a major spending problem. But let’s thank our representatives for their commitment to working together. The last thing that we needed was for government dysfunction to send our nation back into recession. This deal prevents a second recession and permanently lowers tax rates for 98 percent of Americans.

I am proud of you, Cathy, and it is my hope that Congress continues to work together to now address the spending.
