Widen anti-discrimination law

If Gary Crooks had done a little research, he would have known that I have publicly urged the Coeur d’Alene City Council to broaden the so-called anti-discrimination legislation.

If anti-discrimination is such a virtue, why limit it to lesbians, gays, bisexuals and transsexuals? We’ve got adulterers and polygamists, practicers of bestiality, pederasty, prostitution, incest – all living without the legal protections now offered to the LGBT community. If there is nothing noble or natural in the arena of sexuality, then why not expand the list?

What this legislation does is not so much prevent discrimination – there have been no verifiable cases of such in our community – but grant public sanction to certain behaviors and force those who object to shut up or pay up.

But let us be clear: Those who have destroyed sexuality in America are not homosexuals; heterosexuals are the primary culprits. For the past 50 years, heterosexuals have lived with closed fist and declared to our Creator: “You can’t tell me what to do! I’ll do whatever I please even if it’s self-destructive!”

But Crooks thinks that my criticisms of the anti-discrimination ordinance amount to no more than, “Eww! That’s yucky!” I guess sometimes smart bombs don’t detonate.
