Shutdown is unethical

The news of the federal government shutdown has been so balanced with warnings to both sides not to anger the other. Is it really OK to use extortion tactics to cause a legislative outcome?

Then I ran across an article by the famous John Dean of the Watergate era, published in verdict.justia.com.

Dean makes a case that this is unconstitutional, violates the oath of office and is unethical. Dean hardly qualifies as Democratic or liberal.

As we contemplate the harm to our deliberative national government and the world economy, some indignation seems to be in order.
