Like countdown lights

I want to thank the Spokane Street Department for installing the countdown numbers (when affordable) in place of the flashing “Don’t Walk” signs. They are costly, but they are making a difference for everyone’s safety.

I am sure Spokane drivers who actually pay attention agree. I see that these countdowns are slowly showing up at many busy traffic signal intersections. Pedestrians, too, as long as they observe the signs, are also benefiting from them.

Thank you, Spokane, for helping to keep patient, observant drivers and pedestrians safe.
