Not exactly free
I’ve been reading several interesting letters about veterans with only three to four years of service, and without service-connected disabilities, receiving free benefits. This is entirely false. A little checking by The Spokesman-Review would find these statements to be false, and should not be published.
There are income levels that have to be considered, there are co-pays that have to be made, and there are percentages of disabilities that are looked at. Nothing from the Veterans Administration is entirely free.
But, on the same subject, all you have to do is enter our country illegally, and that person will receive untold amounts of benefits, free of charge. Maybe even free citizenship.
Now, you tell me which is fair: A person who spends time and treasure fighting for this country, and receives nothing free, or an illegal alien who does nothing for this country and receives everything free?
