Focus on present wars, not past

By all means, let us continue to drag out a conflict that should have ended in the 1940s. WWII happened. People died. Neither side was purely good or entirely evil. But as long as we sit here bickering over use of the atomic bomb, we waste time better spent solving today’s problems.

Petty bickering that happens between the likes of Frank Taylor(Dec. 4) and Joseph Wythe(Nov. 26) halts progress. As long as we are caught up in the semantics of yesteryear, this year shall suffer.

Refugees flee the Middle East. Paris is under attack. The United States military has bombed Daesh so much that we are running out of munitions. Back home, college students are rioting over hurt feelings while children and homeless people starve in the cold. But, hey. Why should that matter when ownership of 20th century actions needs to be declared?

Blood was on all hands in 1945. Don’t let it spread to ours.
