Obama can’t be defended

It always cracks me up when liberals like Ed Terhaar (Jan. 11) go through contortions to try to defend or prop up President Obama’s record on the economy, or any other indicator of his performance.

Let’s be clear: The president may be a shrewd politician but he is horrible at his job. That is, whenever he decides to stop campaigning or vacationing and do it. His administration, including his vice president, staff, Cabinet and ambassadors are some of the most incompetent people I’ve ever seen in my life. It’s embarrassing, actually.

America has the strongest economic engine in the world and should have recovered at least a few years ago. The fact that it is showing signs of improvement is in spite of Obama’s policies, not because of them.

Furthermore, the mainstream media have carried Obama’s water for seven years. That’s indisputable, and if one news outlet – Fox News – goes off message and exposes his continual lies, malfeasance or unconstitutional actions, then liberals just go berserk.

I can’t determine whether they are more frustrated by the inconvenient facts, or that our leader is an abysmal failure. But that would require a degree of intellectual honesty. Never mind.
