Pay it forward

As graduates of EWU and 49 years as community members of Cheney, we support the new school bond proposal. We chose to live here and raise our family in this town in large part due to the excellent educational system provided for our children.

As both teachers and coaches, we have taught at the elementary, junior high, middle high and high school. Cheney has continually been recognized for its outstanding school system, as well as the financial and future planning for its large geographical area. As our sons benefited from those in the past who worked to make Cheney such an exceptional district, it is now our turn to “pay it forward.”

Please support this bond issue to insure continued excellence in academic as well as extremely beneficial extracurricular activities, that in turn bless our community with their many successes. We have witnessed and personally experienced the many changes of our school systems over the years and have faith and confidence in our school leaders again today, to have done their best to look at this proposal in numerous financial and economic ways for the benefit of all of our children. Again, please vote yes on Feb. 14.
