Women wrestling men
“EV alumna promotes wrestling for women, girls” is the headline for a Dec. 29, 2016 story in this paper. If it were not such a serious matter, it would be hilarious.
Not content to wrestle other females, Rachael Coleck, the subject of the story, is quoted as saying that she prefers the challenge of wrestling against boys, who are naturally stronger and pose more of a challenge. She states that boys often forfeit rather than to wrestle her since if they win, they only win against a girl, but if they lose, they are losing to a girl.
The truth, however, is that wrestling requires moves and “groping,” which in any other context is clearly labeled sexual harassment. Hey. Why didn’t Donald Trump think of this? He could just claim that his groping of women was his way of promoting “women wrestling.”
More seriously, I believe it is a safe bet that the ACLU and the Human Rights Commission (so called) and a bunch of lawyers will jump on this matter insisting that if women are not allowed to wrestle men, it’s discrimination.
Make no mistake, it’s yet another way of reshaping society and not for the better.
