Sexual assault on campuses

Sexual assault on college campuses is a topic that has always been controversial. Because of this, it is not talked about as much as it should be. This is something that happens more often than people realize, and it is controversial because there are always so many uncertainties and questions when one of these incidents occurs. Sexual assault on college campuses should be more recognized: Campuses need to be taking these kinds of cases seriously, help people to deal with these situations and how to prevent them from happening in the future.

Because this topic isn’t discussed enough, students do not know how to report it if it occurs or how to deal with it. College students are so vulnerable and are put into uncertain situations every day; safety should always be the top priority of all colleges and universities. They need to take bigger steps to teach students about this topic. If they were more aware of what constitutes as sexual assault, they would know what is and is not okay, and how to tell if something is right or wrong. This will change the dynamic of campuses and ultimately make them safer.
