Little Spokane River progress

Can we bring more attention to recreational management on the middle of the Little Spokane River? Should this become a linear park connected with state park lands downstream? The Fairwood community is asking these questions.

Fairwood represents ZIP codes 99218 and 99208 and is a census-designated place of 7,900 people. The community needs to carefully consider: 1) Who they would like to manage these lands and 2) How they should be managed.

I believe Spokane County, Washington State Fish and Wildlife, and State Parks all have a role to play here to foster the vision.

The leadership shown from the Fairwood Farmers Market, the Friends of the Little Spokane River Valley, and others indicates we’re on the right track.
