Gun control in the military

As far as gun violence goes, ironically the military has stricter gun control than in the civilian sector.

If everyone in the U.S. military were allowed to carry guns, there would be carnage all the time. No one but the MPs and officers are allowed to carry guns, and even then, only sidearms. The automatic rifles and fast-acting “machine” guns are used only for combat.

Why doesn’t the N.R.A. wake up? It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to realize that if anyone is allowed to posses weapons, of course there are going to be mass killings.

You wouldn’t have to repeal the Second Amendment, just regulate it so only certain people can carry weapons - mainly police, FBI agents and anyone in authority who can responsibly decide when to use them and when not to use them.

Wake up, Congress. Wake up, senators. Wake up, Mr. President. Wake up, Republican Party. Wake up, America! Please.
