Lisa Brown, the advocate

Excuse me, please! What information dumpster did Cathy McMorris Rodgers’ campaign team dive into to retrieve the blatantly false garbage about her opponent, Lisa Brown?

Lisa’s record clearly supports her ongoing advocacy for the prevention of child abuse and sexual assault: 1) sponsored Senate Bill 5570, expanding the crime of communicating with a minor for immoral purposes; 2) supported House Bill 1147, protecting communities from sex offenders through the establishment of community protection zones. Convicted sex offenders are prohibited from residing within 880 feet of private or public school grounds and facilities in Washington state; and, 3) continues to serve on the board of Spokane’s YWCA, which provides critical support services for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.

Perhaps Rep. McMorris Rodgers and her campaign team should instead borrow a lesson from her opponent and leave this kind of disgusting smear campaigning to those who might not know better. As a side note, thank you, Lisa Brown, for your advocacy.
