Raw fish is good at Sushi.com

When The Spokesman-Review still published the print edition of 7 , my friend and colleague Tom Bowers used to prowl the city, looking for his favorite eateries. Tom never affected the role of food critic, but he was — and still is — a guy who enjoys what life has to offer: good food, tasty drink, rockin’ music and the occasional toke on a fine cigar. So when he told me that Sushi.com was his favorite sushi spot in Spokane, I listened. And last night, a slow Wednesday, Mary Pat and I dropped by to indulge in some raw fish wrapped in rice and seaweed.

The plate above includes four different kinds of sushi rolls: Alaska, Dragon (the cool-looking one with the tails), kappa maki and another one whose name I can’t remember but that involves tuna and is something I can still taste — and I mean that final sentiment in a good way.

Sushi.com is located on the northeast corner of Stevens and Main boulevards, just west of Auntie’s Bookstore . As most Spokane-area sushi lovers already know, it’s worth checking out.
