State Ed Board names Aman president of EITC; he had been interim prez, backs community college formation

Idaho’s state Board of Education has named Rick Aman president of Eastern Idaho Technical College, to succeed previous president Steve Albiston. Albiston retired last July; Aman has been serving as interim president since then.

Don Soltman, state board president, said, “Under Dr. Aman’s leadership, Eastern Idaho Technical College continues to provide the high quality post-secondary career technical education that meets industry needs.” He also cited Aman’s involvement in the current campaign to convert EITC into a full community college; Aman said he’ll continue and expand that involvement.

Aman holds a Ph.D. in education leadership from Oregon State University; before joining EITC, he worked for community colleges in Idaho and Oregon in positions including vice president and dean.
