Edit: Risch Blaming Messenger
U.S. Sen. Jim Risch’s logic is upside-down
when it comes to a scathing Senate report detailing the torture and abuse
applied by the
Central Intelligence Agency after the 9/11 attacks. It’s not the report
that threatens American credibility,
senator. It’s the fact that such brutality happened. Risch,
and Intelligence Committee colleague Sen. Marco Rubio,
R-Florida,
issued a preemptive joint statement Monday night,
about 12 hours before Senate Democrats released the 600-page executive
summery of a years-long probe into the CIA’s “enhanced
interrogation techniques.” The findings allege that the CIA lied to
Congress and the White House,
employed illegal tactics with striking regularity and all of the effort
resulted in basically no useful information. But Risch and Rubio blame the

Question: Seems to me that CIA torture techniques were “reckless and irresponsible” — not the report detailing them. Thoughts?
