Statesman Endorses Otter

The challengers in the Idaho gubernatorial race would have you believe that the Gem State is circling the drain and soon will slide into Third World status. We have heard the litany of what we are “last” or sadly “first” in so many times, the rote repetition is losing its impact. Detractors correctly point out idaho’s struggles in education, education funding, low wages and its sometimes low-expectation/lowball approach to luring businesses. But less than a month from the Nov. 4 election - after observing the May primary action, taking in the general election debates so far, and interviewing the top contenders - we have yet to identify anyone as prepared for the next four years as Gov.
