McDowell Leaves, Brannon Mum

Dave McDowell’s last day as Kootenai County’s finance director was Monday. McDowell, the finance director for almost 15 years, reported to County Clerk Jim Brannon. It’s not yet clear why McDowell’s employment ended. In a voice mail, Brannon would only say this to the SR re: McDowell’s departure: “As a sensitive personnel issue I’m not at liberty to talk any further.” Brannon confirmed that yesterday was McDowell’s last day working for the county. McDowell was hired as finance director in July 2000. Before that he was controller for the Coeur d’Alene Tribe.
