Local mayors to ring bells for Christmas
“We are incredibly grateful to have the support of our local city leadership for Mayors Day at the Red Kettle,” says Kroc Center Executive Director Major Ben Markham, “They each take an hour or two and together produce the best Kettle in the history of this local fundraiser.”
Last year the Mayors of Kootenai County raised over $14,000 at one Kettle location, double the amount collected that day at all other 22 Kootenai County Kettle locations combined.
“If folks were considering a donation to The Salvation Army at all this year, this is the day to do it,” says Kettle Coordinator, Cynthia Rozyla. All donations to the mayors Kettles between 10am and 7pm will be matched by the Fred Meyer Foundation, up to $5,000.
