The Slice

When you put a firecracker in a cow pie

I got a note from my friend John Mraz.

"Growing up on a farm, our favorite firecracker maneuver was to find a fresh cow pie, insert firecracker, and then light fuse. Occasionally they would be a dud. Being early adopters of recycling, we would retrieve the dud to break it in half and turn it into a fizzler. One (or more) time(s), I approached the dud and as I bent down to pluck it out of the pie, it went off. My new 'Dalmatian' look wasn't a big hit with my mom."
