A back-to-school tip

A few years ago, Sue Riener was primed to give her granddaughter all sorts of advice about surviving her first days of high school.

So when Sue went to pick her up at school she started counseling the girl about how to deal with various kinds of mean treatment from malevolent upperclassmen.

Her granddaughter’s reaction? “She laughed and said, ‘Oh don’t worry grandma, I just don’t go where they hang out.’”
