Special Edition: Nick Jaina

Nick Jaina is the man. This Portland-based singer-songwriter dropped out of school and ended up as a transient indie musician who produced records out of Jackpot Studios. The more artists he would collaborate with, the more recruits he had for his rotating music collective. Now he has a solid seven-piece with drums, upright bass, bass clarinet, lap steel guitar, violin and various percussion. During this episode the band played these weird bell-type instruments that looked like spatulas with mallets attached to the end.
