Elkfest 2007: Joel Smith
Joel Smith appears as a solo singer-songwriter and occasionally with full-band backing from the Hands of Plenty. He also plays keyboards and bunch of other instruments in Spokane newcomers Hockey. Elkfest Sunday found Smith for the first time playing back-to-back shows with both projects. While Hands of Plenty has only played a handful of shows, Hockey is billed almost weekly. Smith doesn’t seem to believe there is much stylistic difference between what he does as a country-tinged soloist versus the dance vibe of Hockey. This special two-part episode contains both.
