Episode 46: 6 Foot Swing
6 Foot Swing is a new-ish swing jazz band with New Orleans flavor. The music is led by vocalist Heather O'Brien, and influenced mostly by 20s- through 40s-era swing. In addition to O'Brien, 6 Foot Swing contains various members of the Viktor Novorski Swing Band. This performance features guest guitar guru Paul Grove. 6 Foot Swing is gearing up for its first opening gig for Portland's Stolen Sweets on May 24 at CenterStage, and the whole Viktor Nov/6 Foot collective is working hard to organize the Think Swing! 2007 jazz festival featuring several New Orleans musicians in the fall.
