Sommapalooza 2007: Patrick O'Neill
Kicking off the readers’ choice portion of Sommapalooza at Eastern Washington University, Patrick O’Neill is well-known for fronting all-ages dominators Mylestone, but he also has carved out a stellar reputation as a solo acoustic act in the last year. O’Neill recorded an album-length demo that he has yet to release, and it looks like it may never come out. Instead, O’Neill is heading to Portland this summer to record an album of all-new material. This time around, O’Neill is moving away from sparse acoustic indie-rock to a more dense sound, possibly with strings, with help from his cousin Kevin Long and musician friend Mordekye Layman.
