Wind on the Sea Release

October 14, 2017

Wind on Sea, 9% ABV and 15 IBUs, is a beer that explores the bitter relationship between the Vikings and the Northern Celts of Alba, modern day Scotland. Spruce was added to many beverages of seafaring folk for its flavor and especially its high Vitamin C content — it kept scurvy away! This Scotch ale has a bready-caramel body, a forward sweetness that finishes somewhat drier than most Scotch ales due to the tannins found in spruce. There’s also the slightest hint of citric acid, also from the spruce. Bride a side dish to share during the potluck with salmon and elk burgers (4 p.m.). Pipes and cigars pair incredibly well with Wind on Sea, so if you’d like to partake, bring them!
