Railroad History and Walk

October 14, 2017

Explore the route of the historic Milwaukee Road railroad across Whitman County in an historic photographic presentation. This is an opportunity to explore the historic Rosalia Concrete Arch Bridges, Rosalia’s iconic landmark to the south along with historic images from Whitman County Library’s Rural Heritage collection. After the photo presentation, railroad historian Mark Borleske will lead a historic walking tour of the Rosalia Concrete Arch Bridges. The bridges were constructed in 1915, replacing temporary wooden trestles built in 1907 and are also listed on the National Registry of Historic Places.
