Memorial Day Activities

May 26-28. To honor those who died serving the country, Fairmount Memorial Association cemeteries will feature 3,800 flags, military vehicles at Riverside Memorial Park (211 N. Government Way) and free admission to the Pines Cemetery Flag Museum (1402 S. Pines Road). All weekend, from 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Heritage Funeral Home (508 N. Government Way) will feature a veteran’s display, military memorabilia and free refreshments. At Heritage Funeral Home, enjoy music Saturday from noon-3 p.m. by The Doghouse Boyz and The Square Parts and Sunday at 2 p.m. featuring the SideStep Band. Memorial Day ceremonies on Monday include: Spokane-Cheney Memorial Gardens (5909 Cheney Spokane Road) at 10 a.m., Fairmount Memorial Park (5200 W. Wellesley Ave.) at 11 a.m., Pines Cemetery at 11 a.m. and Heritage Funeral Home at 2 p.m.
