“The Columbia Plateau and the Native American West”
In 2018, Gonzaga University’s Dr. Laurie Arnold co-directed an NEH summer institute, “The Native American West: A Case Study of the Columbia Plateau,” educating participants on how scholars can apply scholarship about the Plateau to the classroom. Arnold, an enrolled member of the Sinixt Band of the Colville Confederated Tribes and director of the GU Native American Studies program, will discuss how regional partnerships, collaborations and public-facing engagement have fostered growth of the Native American Studies program and provided access to national platforms and institutions. Lecture takes place in Jepson Center.
