Presented by Dr. Raja S. Tanas, Professor Emeritus of Sociology at Whitworth University. He has taught courses in the areas of Middle Eastern, Arab, and Islamic studies. Dr. Tanas received the Bur-lington Northern Teaching Excellence Award in 1989, Whitworth’s Diversity Award in 2011 and was voted the institution’s Most Influential Professor in 2010.
