Bike to Work Week – Helmets Required on all Rides
Pancake breakfast in Riverfront Park – Monday, May 16, 7 a.m.-9 a.m. Location: Riverfront Park, North picnic shelter (close to basketball court, and Ice Age Floods playground.); Ride of Silence – Wednesday, May 18, 6 p.m. Location: Riverfront Park, Michael Anderson statue (next to Opera House.) A silent procession to honor cyclists killed or injured on the road. A short dedication will precede the ride. Grab snacks, coffee and other goodies at energizer stations hosted by local businesses, non-profits, and cycling clubs around the city. Map available SOON at http://spokanebicycleclub.org/Energizer-Stations.; Bike Tour of Historic Corbin Park Neighborhood – Sunday, May 22, 1 p.m. Meet: Corbin Park, Waverly & Washington. The tour will branch out from the park and visit some notable nearby properties that expand the story of the neighborhood. Approximately 4.5 miles.; Appleway Trail – Wednesday, May 25, 6 p.m. Meet: Yokes pkg lot, E. Sprague and McDonald Rd. Ride east on Appleway Trail then return on quiet residential streets.; Bike Everywhere wrap up party – Friday, May 27, 5-8 p.m. Meet: Manito Park (north gazebo, close to 17th & Grand.) Ice cream, treats and water provided. Share cycling month stories, win door prizes.; Ben Burr, University District – Sunday, May 29th, 1 p.m. Location: Liberty Park library. 402 S. Pittsburg. Enjoy the paved Ben Burr Trail, University Bridge, and bike/ped trails in the East Central area. 9 miles. Chat & treats at library event room after the ride. Bring a lock as bikes will need to be parked outside.
