Proposed Spokane Police Guild Contract 2012-2016
This proposed five-year labor contract with the Spokane Police Guild was released to the public on Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014. It covers 2012 through 2016. Guild officers and Mayor David Condon have agreed to the deal. It still must be approved by union membership and the Spokane City Council. The council in November rejected a similar four-year deal based on what they said was the lack language giving the police ombudsman independent investigative authority examining police misconduct. This contract provides some, though limited, independent investigative authority for the ombudsman.
