* Race percentages are calculated with data from the Secretary of State's Office, which omits write-in votes from its calculations when there are too few to affect the outcome. The Spokane County Auditor's Office may have slightly different percentages than are reflected here because its figures include any write-in votes.

About The Measure

The legislature eliminated, without a vote of the people, a retail sales tax exemption for certain telephone and telecommunications services. The tax is expected to generate about $397 million over 10 years. Voters are being asked if the tax should be repealed or maintained. But as an advisory vote, it’s basically little more than a public opinion and will have no legal bearing on the Legislature.
