Political background: Incumbent state representative; elected in 2014, and now seeking re-election to a second term. Also served as a Republican precinct committeeman.

Work experience: Worked as an aquatic biologist for more than 15 years, including field work in Idaho, California, Colorado, Washington and Utah. Has quit work to focus full-time on being a state representative.

Family: Married, no children.

North Idaho GOP incumbents win big in legislative races

With every seat in the Idaho Legislature up for a vote, most incumbents held their seats and the Legislature retained its overwhelmingly GOP cast in Tuesday’s general election. But two Democratic incumbents lost their seats in north-central Idaho. House Minority Leader John Rusche, D-Lewiston, lost in a rematch with Republican Mike Kingsley, who claimed 58 percent of the vote.
