Kid Fishing Day 2015
More than 700 kids took part in the annual Kids Fishing Day event on May 2, 2015, at Clear Lake sponsored by the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife and area sportsman's groups. About 11,000 rainbow trout were stocked into net pens. Any fish the kids didn't catch from shore or off the docks were released into the lake at the end of the day. The event was held at the Fairchild Air Force Base recreation site on the lake. For $10, each kid got to take home a rod and reel rigged for fishing plus a limit of trout and memories of a great time on the water with families -- and perhaps a new lifetime sport.
